Take some time to enjoy the St. Endellion Summer Festival when staying in our beautiful holiday cottages in Cornwall.
Back for the 58th time, the St. Endellion Summer Festival runs for two weeks from the 26th July until the 5th August celebrating music and entertainment in the North Cornwall and Truro areas which brings together incredible musicians from all over the world.
It started when musical priest, Roger Gaunt, invited a group of friends down to help him renovate St Endellion’s derelict rectory. As the years went by the festival grew from friends putting on small scale fundraising concerts to the two week event it is today.
The Artistic Director for this one of a kind festival is Mark Padmore and the conductors are Martyn Brabbins, Aidan Oliver and Ryan Wigglesworth.
Highlights include an exquisite symphony, a chorus of 75, Rossini’s William Tell Overture, Walton’s Cello Concerto, Handel’s Dixit Dominus, and the choral evensong at St. Endellion’s church which kicks things off on Tuesday 26th July at 4.30pm.
Make sure you see watch the performance of Berliozs “L’enfance du Christ”at Truro Cathedral on Monday August 1, 7.30pm which is a true musical delight. You can also hear classics from Brahms, Stravinsky, scores from popular and classic Broadway shows and late night brass bands.
