Falmouth BID has announced another winner for its photography competition which is part of their #LoveFalmouth campaign. Over August the campaign focused on summer and encouraged visitors and locals to get involved.

The idea behind the campaign is to show off Falmouth in a new way and get people to share their experiences of living or holidaying in the coastal town. Starting in May, each month had a different theme, August being #LoveSummer and September is #LoveCreative.

It is easy to get involved with the photography competition, as you can simply use the hashtags mentioned above when uploading to social media like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Each month, the winning image has been selected from five images which have been shortlisted from the hundreds of entries that have been received. At the end of the six months, the 30 shortlisted images will be displayed at an exhibition in Falmouth. The overall winning images each month also receive a £50 voucher from Seasalt Cornwall.

August’s winner was Jenna Robbins who snapped a stunning photograph from her boat while sailing in the bay. She said: “I love sun, sea, and sailing and this photo captured what Love Summer and Love Falmouth means to me. I took this photo in July whilst sailing past Pendennis.”

Richard Wilcox, Falmouth BID Manager said: “The #LoveFalmouth campaign is another way we hope to connect people whether they be residents or visitors, and judging by the fantastic response to August’s theme, it has struck a chord! We were lucky to receive a lot of brilliant images making judging all the more difficult but in the end, five images really stood out as being reflective of the glorious Falmouth summer time. We look forward to seeing September’s #LoveCreative entries!”
