The six-month long social media photography campaign #LoveFalmouth, organised by Falmouth BID, is exhibiting all the winning photographs at an exhibition, which opens next week. The competition focussed on various themes each month and encouraged both locals and visitors to share their enthusiasm and passion for Falmouth through the medium of photography.

Over 800 entries were received over the course of the six-month campaign which ran from May to October, along with some heartfelt and humorous stories that showed the connection people have with Falmouth. Many of the entries were from amateur photographers who wanted a chance to share their love for the town and community.

The different themes each month were #LoveCommunity, #LoveTheSea, #LoveOutdoors, #LoveSummer, #LoveCreative and #LoveAutumn.

The winning 30 shots, five taken from each month, will be on display at the Main Gallery of The Poly from 29 November to 10 December. The exhibition is also free, so if you are on your Falmouth holidays, feel free to pop along and get inspired.

Falmouth BID Manager Richard Wilcox said of the competition: “The #LoveFalmouth campaign is another way we hope to connect people whether they are residents of visitors and judging by the fantastic response, it has struck a chord. We were lucky to receive a lot of brilliant images making judging all the more difficult but in the end, five images [from each month] really stood out as being reflective of Falmouth’s beautiful scenes.”
