Newquay is a stunning and vibrant part of Cornwall. There is a range of long stretches of sand to small coves. Fantastic restaurants selling locally produced and landed foods. There is also a variety of brilliant attractions for the children in the area, and we thought we would highlight the best of them!

Pirates Quest

The Pirates Quest is a magical place for children and aspiring pirates! Professional performers take to the amazingly created sets to inspire your children’s imagination and make them feel as though they are amongst the crew from a ship. You will be lead through caves, streets and finish aboard, with special effects, dimmed lighting and great actors, the whole family will feel as though they have been transported to another time. Children are given a treasure map which provides clues, direction and puzzles to solve. When they have completed the hunt, they will be given real life treasure which they can take home and reminisce about their brilliant holiday to Newquay. There is an optional scare section which includes extra loud noises, dark places and frightening characters, some will love, but others won’t!

Holywell Bay Fun Park

There are over 24 fun and exciting activities that your children will fully enjoy at Holywell Bay Fun Park. Entry to the park is free, although you do have to pay for individual rides that you choose to go on. With so much to pick from, we would advise having a walk around the park to make sure you go on the best ones for you! From Go karts, mazes, gold hunting, pedalos, water walkers and digger pits you could easily spend the whole day here. A short walk from the fun park is the Holywell Bay, at just two miles long it is the perfect beach for little ones who want to explore, a stream and sand dunes will keep them occupied for a few hours.

Blue Reef Aquarium

The Blue Reef Aquarium is part of four aquariums that are working together, they can be found in Hastings, Newquay, Portsmouth and Tynemouth. The Newquay one boasts an impressive underwater tunnel which provides fantastic views of the sea creatures from below, the tank holds turtles, sharks and a variety of fish, You can admire over 40 different exhibits which are home to an array of vibrantly coloured species. Throughout the day there are educational talks, workshops and feeding times which visitors are all encouraged to attend to discover more about the animals.

Newquay Zoo

The zoo is active in various conservation and breeding programs, they are trying to bring back animals from the brink of extinction, the charge of your entry will go towards the effort to save the incredible animals. Of course, you are welcome to just wander around the zoo, but we would encourage you to join in one of the many activities they have on offer. You can go on an ‘Animal Experience’ which takes you behind the scenes with the keepers, you will help with feeding and other daily tasks. The interesting and educational talks throughout the day are also, not to be missed. There are armadillos, mousedeer, otters, penguins, pandas, sloths, a wide range of birds and much, much more!

We have a range of family friendly cottages, Cornwall which will make a fantastic home for the duration of your holiday. Much of the memories made while on holiday are made in the place you’re staying, this is especially true for children. They will enjoy exploring the cottages, sleeping in a new room and having their breakfast in a different place. Make sure you choose a cottage that suits you and your family, so you are all comfortable on your family holiday.
