Our very own Cornwall has finished at the top of a recent poll conducted on UK holidaymakers, whereby they were asked which location they would most like to go for a short break.

Beating the likes of Lanzarote and Greece, the recent surge of interest in Cornwall is likely to produce a very popular Easter for the region.

There has been a more than 50 per cent increase in enquires for holidays in the South West, with the number expected to rise even further.

When looking at worldwide holiday destinations for an Easter break, Cornwall beats Lanzarote and Tenerife to number one, with local neighbours Devon also featuring in the top ten.

Visits to the “Visit Cornwall” website are up 40 per cent this year over last, which is extremely encouraging for the region.

This indicates people are taking more care before booking their holidays, and researching the region before they visit. Recent BBC drama series Poldark has already been stated as reason for increasing interest in the region, thanks to stunning views used in filming.
