A new female role has been cast in the hit series Poldark, and joining the already well-known array of actors and actresses will be Gabriella Wilde, playing a character who is a “beautiful and manipulative heiress”.
Gabriella will become the latest love interest in the period drama, as Caroline Penvenen, but it is okay ladies, Poldark will not be involved!
Wilde, who was born Gabriella Anstruther-Gough-Calthorpe, is set to be the fictional niece of wealthy landowner, Ray Penvenen, whose role will subsequently be played by Midsomer Murders star John Nettles. It has also been confirmed that Caroline will be pursued by prospective MP Unwin Trevaunance, Hugh Skinner, who you will know from BBC comedy series W1A.
Earlier in her career the actress appeared in films such as The Three Musketeer’s, Endless Love, and Carrie.
So viewers of Poldark are being treated to a trio of new arrivals in Wilde, Nettles and Skinner, as they come into the second series, which officially begins filming near our 5 star holiday cottages Cornwall this week.
The newest series will offer up ten new servings of the period drama which follows the plot of Winston Graham’s original novels.
