Our beautiful county is well known for a variety of things; long sandy beaches, green rolling hills and more recently, our delicious local produce and cuisine that goes further than our famous pasty!
We have compiled a list of our favourite eateries all within a close distance of our holiday accommodation in Cornwall, so make sure you come down to Cornwall with an empty belly!
The Tree Inn
With its extensive history as a 13th century manor house, the Tree Inn at Stratton is one of the most interesting places to eat in Cornwall. There is a bar for casual diners, a great restaurant, a garden courtyard and an excellent Sunday Carvery.
The Porthmeor Café
Australian native Cameron Jennings has brought the famous Sydney style cafe to Cornwall. A great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Come in the evening and enjoy delicious tapas such as courgette and manchego fritters, cajun squid, homemade meat balls, sardines on toast with salsa verde. Don’t worry about the weather as they have beach hut pods complete with blankets and heaters if the weather takes a turn for the worse.
Porthminster Kitchen
This fantastic restaurant offers great views of the harbour whilst offering locally sourced ingredients in imaginative dishes with the menu a mix of appetisers, larger starters and main courses. You can create your own tasting menu from a choice of small dishes or stick to the set menus in the evening.
Tolcarne Inn
This is one for seafood lovers, the menu varies daily as they whip up the dishes from what is brought to them in the morning from the local fisherman. Expect delicious mackerel dishes and delicious sea bass recipes.
Ben Tunnicliffe Sennen Cove
Ben Tunnicliffe is one of the county’s top chefs and it shows in his food. His Sennen Cove restaurant serves delicious food for the gourmet diners as well as the whole family. Head there during the day with the kids and enjoy the delicious burgers with hand-cut fries or take that special someone in the evening and enjoy exquisite fish dishes as the sun melts into the Atlantic.
The Victoria Inn
This cute and cosy dining room and pub offers up freshly prepared locally sourced dishes from crispy pork belly to delicious cod and hake dishes. Head here on a Sunday to sample their famous roast dinner, we recommend the beef sirloin!
The Halsetown Inn
This is a real local’s pub that serves thirst quenching ciders and ales to accompany their delicious food. Try one of the locally line-caught fish dishes with a Cornish cider at lunch, truly an explosion of local flavour!
