An amazing natural phenomenon that is rarely seen in this country has been captured on camera showing off another fantastic aspect of the great Cornish coast.
Mark Thomas captured the amazing footage on his drone at Wheal Coates in St Agnes and shows a breath taking blow hole in action whilst also showing off the beautiful scenic views the area has become known for: green rolling hills, granite cliffs, deep blue Atlantic waters and jaw-dropping sunsets.
Blow holes are created when there is a gap or tunnel in the rock face, combined with swell and high tides. The wave’s crash into the rock and the water is forced through the gap and projected as a mist through the air, this one was shooting seawater an impressive thirty feet into the Cornish sky!
You can watch the magnificent video here and you can also visit the location yourself, it’s only a short distance from our places to stay in Cornwall, meaning you can enjoy the great Cornish outdoors to the fullest. We suggest tying it in a with a day surfing at the nearby St Agnes beach before filling up on delicious local fish caught right on the sand, with your own beach side BBQ, before heading back to the comfort of your luxurious accommodation with The Valley.
