Cornwall is among the top 10 best areas to work in within the tourism industry, and the latest figures suggest that jobs in tourism have grown more than twice as much in the last five years compared to other industries.
For the UK economy, tourism accounts for more than £26 billion, and the industry makes a huge contribution to the economy. VisitBritain Director Patricia Yates said: “This growth in jobs is really fantastic news for the UK economy and echoes the record breaking figures we are seeing in the growth of international visitors to Britain.
“Tourism is a rapidly growing industry and we are working hard to encourage visitors to explore all of Britain’s nations and regions.”
Figures also show that 90% of tourism workers are permanent, people who are passionate about their job and work within the industry, and 26% of tourism workers are from a younger age bracket, aged 16 to 24.
Other areas include The Isles of Scilly, York, Skye and Lochalsh, Blackpool and the Orkney Islands.
With Cornwall being one of the best areas to work in the tourist industry, Cornwall holidays will be on the rise and with The Valley’s cottages that welcome everyone in the family, even the dogs, there is no need to look further.
