Over 165,000 people in the UK have a holiday home, and with Cornwall having 10,000 of these holiday homes, 6% of the total, it is the top location for holiday homes in England and Wales.
Cornwall has been revealed as the number 1 location in an analysis carried out by Direct Line’s SELECT Premier Insurance, with Welsh county Gwynedd number 2, followed by north Norfolk in 3rd place.
Over 1.6 million people in total in the UK have a second home, with 11% of these recognised as holiday homes, places for these people to relax and spend quality time with family and friends.
Many things have been attributed to Cornwall’s success as a top holiday destination, including its natural beauty, 300 miles of stunning coastline and abundance of activities to do in this diverse region.
