Falmouth has now begun its preparations for its upcoming Spring Festival, which starts on March 12th and is the town’s first major festival of the year. Now in its fifth year, the festival helps to bring together the local community as well as to make the town a more attractive place to both live in and visit.
The event is set to kick off with Paint the Town Yellow Day, where over 200,000 daffodils are set to spread across the town in displays, gardens and shop windows by school children and local ambassadors to bring the colours of spring into the town.
There’ll be plenty to do for all staying in our family friendly cottages Cornwall, with a host of events spread across the two weeks suitable for all ages. One of the main events taking place on Events Square is the Folk and Cider Fayre from March 27th to 29th, which will feature live music, craft markets, food stalls and, of course, over 40 delicious ciders for the grownups to sample.
For the more active family there is also plenty going on to get stuck into, including the Run Falmouth half marathon on the 15th and a series of fun fitness sessions taking place on The Moor on the 21st – have a go at Zumba, body combat, or even try your hand at a tug of war!
Other events taking place among a variety of guided walks, exhibitions and workshops include the beautiful Falmouth Spring Flower Show, taking place at the Princess Pavilion on March 21st and 22nd, as well as the unique Fal Oyster Gathering on the Prince of Wales Pier from March 27th until March 29th, where you can try some truly delicious Cornish seafood.
