Truro has been named as the ‘obvious choice’ for a new wine and coffee bar which is set to open in the city next month. The Sanctuary, located not from our luxury Cornish cottages is the brainchild of David McWilliam.

Mr. McWilliam is also behind the successful Bin Two wine merchants, champagne bar and coffee shop in Padstow. The new Truro business will be near the city centre of New Bridge Street, and the venue was previously a music venue and bar.

David McWilliams is confident in The Sanctuary’s success saying: “The Sanctuary has a different feel altogether. We’ll be screening movies and we’ll be hosting regular lounge and house music DJ sets.

“I’m confident there’s a market of young to middle-aged professionals in Truro who want to come and spend their daytimes and evenings here.

“We’re hoping to open in the first week of November and will be open from 10am to 10pm and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.”

Truro has had some negative publicity about its night life and The Sanctuary hopes to put the city back on the map. When visiting Cornwall and staying at our Cornish cottages, why not pay a visit to the wine merchant and coffee bar when it opens in November, or relax with a bottle of wine in our cottage with a hot tub?
